BankWest Breaks Ground for Madison Branch
BankWest recently broke ground to build their permanent, modern facility located at 1046 Makenda Avenue in Madison. With Amert Construction as the general contractor, the 7,220 square foot building will be constructed to the southwest of the bank’s current temporary building.
“We are very pleased to expand BankWest’s brand of community banking in the Madison area,” said BankWest Chairman, President and CEO Charles H. Burke III. “BankWest provides a level of service second to none, believes in reinvesting in the community and strives to be an outstanding local employer.”
Customers will see little impact to services in Madison, as the temporary building will remain in place during construction of the new branch. The Interactive Teller Machine (ITM) has been relocated behind the current building and will be put in its permanent location adjacent to Makenda Avenue as soon as the new building is finalized.
BankWest first entered the Madison market in 2019 when Tom Kahler was hired as a business development officer serving the area. In December of 2020, BankWest transitioned to full-service banking for the Madison area community.
Equally as important as our complete menu of services is the knowledge and expertise of the staff, noted Branch Manager Tom Kahler. “I feel extremely fortunate to be surrounded by an experienced team of bankers with years of combined experience and a deep commitment to our customers and communities,” said Kahler. “We’re committed to putting this organization’s strengths to work in the Madison area community for generations to come.”
