Overdraft Services

At BankWest, we understand that life gets busy. Sometimes that means we’ll forget our bank balance and make an overdraft. Thankfully, we offer several overdraft services to help you avoid or manage these unexpected overdrafts. At BankWest, you’ll have peace of mind. You no longer have to endure the embarrassment or hassle of a rejected check, debit card or ATM transaction.

Overdraft Courtesy Coverage (OCC)

With OCC overdraft service, BankWest will strive to pay nonsufficient fund items (except ATM withdrawals and daily debit card transactions) cashed against your account instead of returning the items unpaid. These are at our discretion. The service is included with qualifying consumer and business checking accounts. The following are covered through OCC:

• Checks
• ACH and other transactions

There is no fee for this service unless you overdraft. We will charge $30 per overdraft or returned item, whether the item is paid or returned. Contact BankWest to opt out of this service.

Overdraft Courtesy Coverage Plus (OCC Plus)

When adding OCC Plus to OCC, BankWest will work to pay all types of nonsufficient fund items presented against your account instead of returning the items unpaid. This includes ATM withdrawals and debit card transactions. If you currently have OCC and would like to switch to OCC Plus, please contact your local BankWest branch. The following are covered through OCC Plus:

• Checks
• ACH and other transactions
• ATM withdrawals
• Daily debit card transactions

There is no fee to enroll. You are only charged if you have an overdraft or returned item. We will charge $30 per overdraft or returned item. Contact BankWest to opt out of this service.

Overdraft Transfer

This overdraft service establishes an automatic transfer to your checking account from another BankWest deposit account. You can add Overdraft Transfer by requesting it from your local branch. The following are covered through Overdraft Transfer:

• Checks
• ACH and other transactions
• ATM withdrawals
• Daily debit card transactions

A $30 annual fee is charged for this service. This service may be cancelled at your discretion.

Checkline*

This overdraft service establishes a personal line of credit linked to your BankWest checking account. The coverage automatically begins when you make a transaction that exceeds the balance available in your checking account. An application is required to add this service and it covers the following:

• Checks
• ACH and other transactions
• ATM withdrawals
• Daily debit card transactions

A $50 setup fee is charged for the first year and a $50 annual fee is charged thereafter. Outstanding balances are assessed at an annual percentage rate of 20 percent. Checkline may be cancelled at your discretion.
