Congratulations Pat Watson – 2022 QUEST Employee

Congratulations to Pat Watson, who was recently honored as a recipient of the BankWest QUEST award.

QUEST, which stands for Quality and Excellence Service Team, is a recognition awarded to BankWest associates who consistently go above and beyond to deliver quality service. Pat was nominated for this recognition by her co-workers.

As Regional Retail Supervisor for BankWest in Rapid City, Pat is responsible for managing and developing the retail banking team as well as serving Rapid City customers. She brings a passion for customer service and an in-depth knowledge of the bank’s products and services to interactions with both internal and external customers.

Pat’s career has always involved helping people. She has worked in banking for nearly 20 years holding positions as a teller, vault teller, branch manager and retail banking manager. She has also worked as a realtor and as a surgical assistant.

“Pat loves to serve the customer and works hard to engage with them to ensure they are well taken care of,” a co-worker says. “She has been known to run paperwork out to a customer if needed and is willing to meet with them at a time that works best for the customer.”

Originally from Southern California, Pat attended Escondido High School, Palomar College in San Marcos, CA, and Western Dakota Technical Institute in Rapid City. She is married to Michael Watson and has two daughters and three grandchildren. Because they have lived South Dakota longer than in their hometowns, she and Michael consider themselves true South Dakotans. They are active members of Journey Church in Rapid City and love to serve their community anytime they can. In her free time, Pat enjoys adventure and travel, hiking and camping in the beautiful Black Hills, and spending time with family and friends.

Pat says: “My favorite quote that I try to live by comes from my mother — No matter who the person or situation is, you can always find something good in them. These words have helped me look for the positive side of things throughout my career and life.”
