MITCHELL, S.D. - BankWest is pleased to announce that Stephen Lewis has joined its Trust Department as Senior Trust Officer, bringing nearly a decade of experience in South Dakota's trust industry. Throughout his career, Lewis has served in compliance, trust administration, and business development roles, building extensive expertise in complex trust planning and administration.

Lewis earned his Juris Doctor from the University of South Dakota and holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from USD. His legal and financial background provides a strong foundation for helping individuals and families navigate sophisticated trust and estate planning needs.

BankWest's Chief Operations Officer Bob Burke said Lewis's commitment to service and fiduciary excellence makes him a valuable addition to the BankWest team.

"Stephen's experience across multiple areas of the trust industry, combined with his genuine commitment to serving clients, will be a tremendous asset to our customers," Burke said. Lewis said the most rewarding part of his work is serving clients and colleagues while helping them achieve their goals with confidence. Lewis specializes in trust planning and administration and is known for being responsive, thoughtful, and service-oriented.

Outside of work, Lewis was active in the Sioux Falls community through involvement with The Banquet and Sioux Falls slow-pitch softball. He and his wife, Rachel, share their home with two dogs, Benji, a Bernedoodle, and Charlie, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
