Jackson County Library
A donation from BankWest in Kadoka will allow the Jackson County Library to expand its offerings and improve the facility’s look and feel.
Librarian Deb Moor said BankWest recently donated $4,500 to purchase permanent shelving units. In addition, employees from the bank assisted in moving stacks of books into temporary storage during the construction process. When the shelves are installed, BankWest employees will return to the library and assist staff in returning books to their proper location on the new shelves.
“This is a wonderful gift to our community,” Moor said. “Our original shelving units were not intended for books and they were not efficient in terms of space. This generous gift from BankWest will free-up space for additional books and create a more efficient floorplan. We could not be happier.”
BankWest Chairman, President and CEO Charles Burke III said he is proud of his employees and their commitment to the communities they serve.
“Libraries are an investment in our young people and in our future,” Burke said. “We are always looking for ways to help improve our communities, and I applaud our employees for recognizing this need. It’s important to note, however, that we could not do this without the support of our many loyal, area customers. Community service is a partnership and we are proud to be one of the partners.”
